Description

The Aputure Light Dome SE is a 33.5-inch parabolic softbox designed to provide soft, flattering, and controlled lighting for professional photography, videography, interviews, portraits, commercial productions, and film sets. Its large circular front surface creates a broad, natural-looking light source that gently wraps around subjects while reducing harsh shadows and creating smooth, even illumination.

Featuring a standard Bowens mount, the Light Dome SE is compatible with a wide range of Bowens-mount LED lights, making it a versatile lighting modifier for both studio and on-location productions. It works particularly well with Aputure and amaran lighting fixtures, as well as many other Bowens-compatible lights.

The Light Dome SE includes two interchangeable front diffusion fabrics, allowing you to choose between different levels of softness and light output depending on your production needs. The included inner baffle provides additional control over the light’s distribution and helps create more even illumination across the front diffusion panel.

For additional control, the included 45° fabric light grid narrows the spread of light and helps prevent unwanted spill onto the background or surrounding areas. This makes the Light Dome SE especially useful for interviews, talking-head videos, portrait photography, product photography, and cinematic lighting setups where precise light placement is important.

The softbox uses a 16-rod construction to create its distinctive circular shape and provides a durable yet relatively lightweight design. At approximately 2.4 lb (1.1 kg), it is easy to transport and convenient for location shoots while still providing a large lighting surface.
